Attolini is a synonym of Naples’ tailoring tradition all around the world – above all the company is known as the creator of the first unstructured Neapolitan-style jacket.
In three generations since 1930, Cesare Attolini has been offering exclusive elegance and craftsmanship – uncompromised expression of quality, based on knowhow consolidated over years by the experience of the founder Vincenzo and his son Cesare Attolini.
In the 1930’s, the most prestigious men of the period arrived, day after day, like a pilgrimage, at the tailor’s shop in Via Vetriera in Naples, a hundred steps away from Via Filangieri, where today we can find Cesare Attolini’s elegant flagship store. From the fifties onwards, celebrities like Clark Gable, King Vittorio Emanuele III and Duke of Windsor became some of the main ambassadors for Cesare Attolini in the world of international stardom. Rumor has it that the impeccable Duke who, until that point, had always worn only clothes sewn by English tailors, fell in love with a creation from Vincenzo Attolini while walking through the magical Piazzetta in Capri.
The unique value of each Cesare Attolini garment lies in a series of meaningful details. Each garment is made entirely by hand in the Casalnuovo tailor’s shop, on the outskirts of Naples. It takes 25 to 30 hours to make a suit, following each stage in creating an authentic tailored jacket from the Neapolitan school. An interesting detail is the pocket tacking stage that is a very significant step. It is essential to give the breast pocket the distinctive “boat shape” that was created in 1930 along with the other revolutionary features of the frist unstructured Neapolitan-style jacket.
In the previous collections by Cesare Attolini we have been given the chance to explore some of the best that Italy has to offer in culture, food and design. Now it’s time again when the Fall and Winter Collection for 2018/2019 has been released. This time we get to know the futuristic factory-museum of San Cesario su Panaro, the most exclusive tailor’s shop for supercars in the world. In the Collection we also get an insight into Antica Corte Pallavicina. A charming relais in the Piantador farm of the master Giuseppe Verdi, in the area to the north of Parma. Home of absolute food and wine excellence and with a unique know-how that has its roots in the age-old local rural culture.
